"Girl's Day" - June 2, 2012

Hello Disney Lovers! I finally went back to my favorite place in the world...Disney! I went to Florida May 30 - June 3 to visit for my sister's graduation. As soon as I booked my flight, I made sure to tell my dad I wanted a Disney day while I was there. So on June 2nd, the day after my sister's graduation and her friend's birthday, we had our Disney Day!!! Here's a quick overview of how our day went.

The morning started off bright and early went Dad dropped us off at Pop while he went off to work. We hung around the tv room trying to get in a mini power nap. My sister and her friend had better luck than me with trying to get comfortable. So I ended up walking around my old stomping grounds snapping random pics (which will be uploaded later).

When I went back to the tv room my sister and her friend were awake. They told me they couldn't nap because it was too cold. I told them it's warm outside so we all took another walk around Pop before heading to check out the new resort. Once at Art of Animation we were all crazy taking tons of pictures (which will be uploaded later).

I wanted to have breakfast at Landscape of Flavors so I could go back home with the satisfaction of eating at AoA during opening week. I had a Mickey Waffle topped with fruit and a side of turkey bacon. My sister and her friend both had the child's serving of pancakes and a side of meat. The child's serving comes with two pancakes instead of four.

After we ate we snapped a few more pictures before getting on the bus to head to Magic Kingdom. Well that was the original plan. Then the MK bus was taking too long and my sister said she would like to go see Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom. The AK bus pulled up so we quickly switched lines and headed off to Animal Kingdom.

My sister and I frequent the parks quite often (well I did when I was a cast member). So that whole day we went with a plan, only do certain attractions so we could hit up more parks. I had a list of things I wanted to do while in Disney. Because of our plan at Animal Kingdom all we did was FOTLK.

I blurred my sister and her friend's faces just in case they weren't comfortable with being on my blog.

Our next stop was Magic Kingdom mainly because I wanted to get a Dole Whip. While at Magic Kingdom we did Laugh Floor Comedy, People Mover, Space Mountain and caught the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade on our way out of the park. (video for that will be up soon)

At Epcot, our main goal was to have my sister's friend try the Beverly at Club Cool. We all drank it with her and it was just as gross as the first time I tried it. We intended to ride Test Track and walk around the countries but our feet were hurting. It had been a long time since my sister or I had rode Soarin and my sister's friend had never rode it. Therefore it was determined that Soarin was a MUST! We waited in line for 55 minutes til we were soarin over California.

After Soarin we called our Dad and told him we were headed back to AoA because he wanted to check it out. Then we went home. It was a long but fun day and I can't wait til my next Disney day.

Abandoned Disney Blog...

Since I do not live in Florida anymore, this blog has become abandoned. :( But I hope to have a few Disney posts next week since I will be in Florida for my sister's graduation.

I hope to go to the opening of Art of Animation Suites and have at least one Disney day. Let's see what happens.

DISmeet with Poolrat at Boardwalk

Saturday night (Oct 2) I was playing catch-up on the DISboards and I saw a post from Poolrat saying that she was in town. So I sent her a message asking her if she was having fun. The next night, we were on the boards at the same time and arranged a meet-up for the next day because I won't be in town for her next trip.

We arranged to meet up at 3pm at Boardwalk. So around 2:50pm I arrived at Boardwalk and let Pat know I was there. She told me that she was near Morocco or Japan and that she would be there soon. I snapped a few pictures while I waited. When Pat arrived, we decided to just walk because the weather was oh so nice.




With all the talking, drunk people watching and watching people run like they were still doing the marathon time flew by. It was a lot of fun and I wish that I was going to be in town the next time she is in town.

The Studios and a Epcot DIS meet

The Reason: Bodacious Beverley Meet at Club Cool

At the OKW DIS meet, MeMom and Jill told me about the meet on Tuesday. My dad said it would be fine to go since he was on "vacation". My family decided to make it a day in the parks.

So Tuesday morning, I woke up a little before 8 to find my dad already awake and my brother and sister still sleeping. I got ready and by the time I was finished my siblings were up and just about ready. On our way to Disney Property, we stopped at McDonald's for a quick breakfast (since we didn't wake up early enough for breakfast at a resort and we wanted to make the "dash" to TSM)

I don't remember what time we got to Hollywood Studios but it was pretty early. We made our dash to TSM. I rode with my sister and she beat me. My reaction to the ride (for the vlog for my boyfriend) "O M G, that ride is awesome. I'm gonna have to practice a lot so when you come I'll beat you the first time around."

Then my dad stopped to show off "his three" to various CMs he works with. Next, we watched Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

We then decided to head towards Epcot. We took the boat over. When we got to Epcot we made our "dash" to Club Cool. We wondered around looking for the DISsers until I heard Jill call out "ChiChi". They were in a corner near the build your own cups. We greeted everybody and chatted for a little. Little Bella was knocked out sleeping in MeMom's arms.

If I recall, when it came down to drink the Beverley, no one really wanted to do it. So it ended up being Wigd and I at first. It was awful. I had to take a sip a second time because my brother didn't snap our picture the first time around. Then Jill and Brooklynn took a sip. Brooklynn's reaction was so cute, she turned around and spit it in the drain. Shhh don't tell. When my brother went to try it, he said he actually liked it. That's my brother for you.

Soon after Jermeysdisneymom and her gang were the first to leave. Then, MeMom was headed back to Pop with the little ones while Jill and John had reservations. My dad and I chatted a little longer with Wigd and Shocker then we said our good byes. Possible plans were made for a DIS meet on Friday night at MK.

My family decided to hang around the front of the park before heading to the showcase to grab something to eat. We skipped Soarin this time cause my sister and I didn't feel like waiting in that loooooooong line. We did do Finding Nemo and What's your problem. My dad was chosen to be apart of the show. :) Then we browsed a little in some shops.

Soon we headed towards Germany to get a frankfurter with sauerkraut. I have never tried it and my goal while I'm here (for who knows how long) is to try as many "new" things. Nothing EXTRA special but it was good.

We stopped in America and watched Spirit of America and Voices of Liberty and stayed for the American Adventure. Now as a future teacher I am ashamed to admit that I dozed off during the American Adventure. Most likely, I will not do it again unless it's a desperate attempt to get out of the heat/rain or my future students have a field trip to Epcot and are required to do it.

We then headed towards the dock but was stopped by another CM my dad knew. They went to find their old manager so we followed behind back to future world. Which ended up being just exercise since said manager had left for the day. Then headed back to the dock to take the ferry back to HS.

Once at HS, I was in desperate need for a caffeine fix so we went inside and headed near a little coffee/pastry shop near sci-fi dine in theatre. (i think) Walked around a little more then decided to call it a day.

Animal Kindgom Day

Since my dad took a week off for vacation, I knew we'd be having some Disney adventures this week. This morning we woke up with nothing planned out but decided to head to Animal Kingdom to do some of the shows. (We avoided rides because it was late in the afternoon when we got there and my sister hates rides.)

We saw the 1:00 Finding Nemo the Musical, 2:30 Festival of the Lion King and then went to Its Tough to be a Bug.

Soon, we were hungry and we decided to go to Animal Kingdom Lodge to eat at Boma. My first time eating at Boma and I was impressed and was instantly hooked on Zebra Domes.

Caribbean Beach on the 4th of July

My dad wanted us to do something together as a family for the 4th after dinner. He knew my sister didn't want to deal with 4th of July crowds at the Parks so he decided that we should go to CB to watch the fireworks. I was all for this idea because I would get the chance to explore a Disney Resort because I never got the chance to before.

We headed towards CB around 6:30 (super early right?!). After about 30 minutes we were sitting in Old Port Royale. I asked my dad what we were gonna do and he said "sit and wait". I decided to go explore the area with my sister. Outside, I snapped pictures and videos to share with my boyfriend. Then we headed to Calypso Trading Post and I channeled my inner MeMom and "shopped".

After "shopping" we headed back to the table, we sat for a few minutes until my dad suggested my sister go show me where they stayed when they were there for Christmas. My sister and I went walking and walked the majority of the whole resort. After our walk, we went back to OPR and convinced our dad to get some Mickey Bars.

After our snack, my dad wanted to go look in the gift shop. Then we wandered outside and sat by the pool and talked. Soon it was time for fireworks. We sat on a bench and patiently waited and waited and waited. Well, we heard fireworks but didn't actually see any.

1st DIS meet

Now that I am currently back in the sunny state of Florida and just a few miles away from Disney, I figured it would be a good time to meet up with some friends I made from the DISboards.

While I was reading MeMom and BrooklynnsMommy's (Jill) trip report, I realized that they will be arriving at Disney a few days after I moved back. They were already planning a DISmeet with other DIS friends who would be in the area. After getting the okay from my dad, I talked with MeMom about meeting up also.

So July 1st arrived and I was extremely nervous about my first meet with my DIS friends that I have been talking to for two years. I did not want to say anything silly or want my brother and sister to embarrass me.

I sent Jill a text told her that we were running late because my dad had just got home from work. She informed me that they were running late as well. We made our way through Kissimmee/Disney traffic and got to Old Key West Resort just in time before the skies opened up and dropped buckets of rain.

My dad dropped my sister, brother and I off in front of the gift shop. I called my dad and told him that I'm going to head towards the lobby since we were late. He was fine with that. I walked through the gift shop with butterflies in my stomach with my brother and sister behind me.

Once inside the lobby, I saw MeMom instantly. She was following Bella around the lobby. I said "Hi" but she didn't hear me since I was speaking like a timid mouse. Then, I saw Jill talking with Stace208. I walked up and said "Jill?" Honestly, everything else after that became a blur. I was just so excited to actually be apart of a DISmeet and finally able to meet MeMom, Jill, Brooklynn and Bella. I do remember asking MeMom to throw a coin in the fountain at WL for me that I get hired. (crossing my fingers the magic works on jobs)

Not much else to say except it was a pleasure meeting everyone. Here's some pictures...
